Simona Halep caused an upset at the WTA Fes Grand Prix with a 6-2 -61 victory over top seed Anabel Medina Garrigues. The fifth-seeded Romanian broke the 2009 champion five times and did not face a single break point on her own serve during the 72-minute match.
