Principles of patient access in Directed Exchange

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) is good law. HIPPA formalized principles of patient privacy that should have been codified industry norms for more than 50 years (better late than never). HIPPA provided the right to patients in the U.S. to get access to their own healthcare records.
