Toyota and BMW have announced a new long-term strategic collaborative initiative aimed at developing fuel cell systems, architecture and components for a future sports car, electric powertrains and lightweight technologies. This development follows shortly after the two companies announced their plans to jointly research and develop lithium-ion batteries .
